A weekend in the Bay…

We were blessed to have just come off a relaxing week.. okay, maybe not relaxing. My husband had the week off and we took full advantage of that! It started with a trip down to San Jose to visit family. Saturday we headed out to Claytons baseball game (where he got two hits), and finished up the night with a family dinner. It was so nice to hang out with my cousins, aunt and uncle, and grandparents. It was a great night. Of course I had to bring my camera along! The rest of the weekend was filled with more family time, a little shopping and ended with a great dinner with Aunt Laurie and Carson. All in all, our weekend was a success! The rest of our week was filled with International Dinner, mentor meeting, catching up with out of town friends and a blessed Easter. More pictures and posts to come (I got real far behind on my week off..) but for now, here are some pictures from our time on Saturday with family. A weekend with family..

We were blessed to spend an amazing weekend with family! My parents came up late Friday night. On Saturday morning we got up, made an amazing breakfast of cinnamon-bread french toast.. it was sooo yummy! We then headed out hike at table mountain, but made a pit-stop to watch my cousin’s basketball game, in which him and his team did amazing. Apparently everyone else had the idea to see the beautiful wildflowers as well, cause there were more people then I have ever seen there… including Lauren and Danny! My parents had never been there before and we had a great time hiking around. Our day finished up with a great BBQ dinner (flank steak, sweet potato fries, portabella mushrooms and asparagus), the Mastrella’s even treated us to self-serve yogurt after!! It was a great weekend filled with tons of quality time with family! Congrats David on the tournament win… Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed spending time with our first house guests!

Time with a nephew..

Today I was blessed to spend some incredible time with my nephew.. He is developing his own personality.. and it is active, determined and fun. I truly think that being an aunt rocks! I love spending time with both David and Jonathan. Today Jonathan and I went for a run with Sarah, ate some great snacks and yes, we had a photo-shoot. Carolyn brought over the cutest outfit… and being the photography junkie I am, I could not pass up the opportunity. It was an amazing morning, and I am so grateful for my fridays with Jonathan and all opportunities I have to bond and connect with my nephews. They are pretty special if I do say so myself. Crafts, crafts and more crafts…

So there is only so much house cleaning, chores and activities that don’t involve spending money that one can do during a period of unemployment. So today I did something different. Today I crafted. Yep, I pulled out the sewing machine, hot-glue gun and fabric… I made crafts, a mess, then cleaned it all up again. The best part was… this whole day of crafts only cost me $3.99. AMAZING! I made flower clips for my hair and headbands/hats for newborn photography (bring on the baby girls!), a new fun and funky strap cover for my camera and a picture frame (which will be given away as a gift). It has been a while since I have explored my crafty side. I really enjoyed revisiting this long lost hobby. Here are some pictures of my craft time… Enjoy!

Summertime weather and summertime sports…

The past week has been filled with beautiful weather! By beautiful weather I mean 80degree, shorts and flip-flops, picnic kinda weather… and we are loving it! Last night Matt participated in his first church league softball game. It was very fun to go and watch. Today we went out into the sunshine to cheer a friend, Ellery, on as she conquered the long-jump at a high school track meet. Both were very fun events, and of course I had to bring my camera and take some pictures of the amazing athletes..
