International Dinner: Dominican Style

I LOVE these nights. There is this song on the radio called “Beautiful Things” by Gungor. It is one of my new favorites--- talks about the reality of life, faith and growing. It is no secret to anyone that this world is a mess. From tornados, earthquakes, hunger, abuse, diseases, cruelty, doubt, fear, insecurity--- we are in a very broken and painful place. However, He can make all things beautiful. Out of these circumstances comes people who reach out, who care, who challenge, who convict. Over the past few years there has been lots of change, unknown circumstances, mountains and valleys, and our friends have been there supporting us the whole time. Now, we are married, in our first home, blessed with job and the ability to give to others.

Meeting with two other couples who inspire, encourage, convict and challenge me. They remind me of the beautiful things God created in life. That every challenge is an opportunity to grow, to become someone more beautiful. Thank you Story’s and Blofsky’s for being a blessing to our lives. Our time with you is always refreshing, fulfilling and something we look forward to.

Here are the lyrics to the song---

“All this pain
I wonder if I'll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

(Chorus)
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

Chorus X2
You make me new, You are making me new”
